💡Explains you why your identity actually matters when building a new habits.

Have you ever wondered why successful people are successful? What it I tell you this book will help you to clarify on some of their secrets? Would you be interested reading it?

Let me just say right at the beginning that der Kaiser almighty 👑 was very pleased with the content of this book. Basically, he was expecting it to be another bullshit kind of book of some academic researcher (you guys know what der Kaiser thinks about formal education - it is useless, you better divide and rule) who talks the talk but never walks a walk.

It turned to be the other way around and der Kaiser can guarantee you won’t be disappointed.

📢 1% Rule

There is a story about British cycle team. We know that British are not really good in anything, except of hating immigrants and coming up with ideas like Brexit. Anyway, the point is that the British cycle team was shit. Below the average shit to be precise and Britons have decided to do something about it. They came up with the idea that they will try to improve everything they do by just 1%. 1% is not much, but what if you improve on 15 to 25 things? That means you get 1/4 better than before. With this strategy the British cycle team finally won.

📢 Setting up the environment

“You don’t have to be the victim of your environment. You can also be the architect of it.”

Let’s say you are a fat bastard and want to lose some weight. Ultimately this goal means to eat more fruit and less sweets. But every-time you buy some apples and bananas and you put them away to the fridge and hide them from your sight you are actually setting up you environment for a bad habit. You should place those apples and bananas on your work table. In the other words you want make easy fo yourself to eat fruits. Anytime you feel like snacking, you are going to eat apple or banana, which is far more healthier than any other sweets.

If you want to read more books, put a book next to your bed table and so on…

📢 Identity

“With outcome-based habits, the focus is on what you want to achieve. With identity-based habits, the focus is on who you wish to become.”

🚬Smoking is a bad habit. I have been on and off smoker for at least 7 years until I managed to quit completely. What is the problem with smokers while quitting?

Let’s say you did not smoke a cigarette for a week, but then you are going to meet up with somebody and that person is a smoker. The other person is going to ask: do you smoke? You say, no thanks I smoke only when I’m drunk…

The problem is the identity of a person who wants to quit. You have to state: I do not smoke, if you are going to smoke in front of me, I will take this pack of Marlboros and shovel it straight into your ass.

Do not forget that your identity must be reinforced on daily basis:

“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.”

📢 Goals vs. Systems equals 📈

“The purpose of setting goals is to win the game. The purpose of building systems is to continue playing the game.”

Many motivational speakers say: You gotta set up goals! Bullshit. The goals are useless piece of shit unless you set up the system and do the work.

Every failure and every set back is a feedback on how to improve your system. Then you simply carry on until you have become a pro.

📢 Conclusion

Let me finish with this quote:

“You should be far more concerned with your current trajectory than with your current results”

In the other words, fuck what the haters say. Carry on, persist. The results will come.
