‼️ A Perfect Planet narrated by David Attenborough‼️

Yo, I was about to write a book review, again. 😀 But then I thought to myself, it is getting a bit stereotypical. A platform, is just a platform. It is not important if it is a book or a video. Somehow, I felt like watching some documentary with breathtaking scenes involving animals and just chillin’. The very best documentaries are still being done by the BBC. I still haven’t find a production company, which would have beaten the BBC in making documentaries.

This series has 5 episodes. The most interesting for me the last one, mentioning the climate change and assessing the human impact on the planet. Over the years, David Attenborough has become a massive advocate in the fight against the climate change.

What is beautiful on BBC documentaries, they are really unbiased (not like some other media) and they are supported by reliable data.

At the moment, ve are producing about a 100 times more CO2 in a year than all volcanos do produce for the same period of time. Since the carbon is the building material for all living things, it is then being absorbed by trees (of which we have less and less because of the deforestation) and by the ocean.

The oceans could absorb loads of CO2 but it comes with price tag: increased acidity, which then kills everything with a shell including coral reefs.

It is only then then the balanced ecosystems starts to break down. The consequence are the less predictable weather patterns and more extreme weather. Great example of this is the increased presence of CO2 in the atmosphere, which is then responsible for higher precipitation and e.g. floods.

What I really appreciated on this series is the number of positive examples. The world is filled up with bad news. It is hard to keep up with all that negative mumbo jumbo happening in the world all the time.

The positive examples are involving people who are collecting variety of seeds and attempting to plant with trees deforested areas in Brazil. A new ways of harvesting solar energy involving a solar power plant in Morocco.  And also people who are rescuing animals. There was a particular example of baby elephant sanctuary.

While the last episode is really a message we should pay attention to, there are other 4 episodes, taking the spectator to the volcanic craters of Galapagos Islands, filming animals in polar winter and describing the daily struggles they have to face.

Conclusion:

Anyway, this documentary is worth is, go and fucking binge watch it.
